Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) presents an interactive panel discussion on corporate stewardship with executives from Enbridge, Altalink, KPMG and Grant Thornton on Wednesday August 12, 2015.
The Alberta economy is undergoing a transition and many companies are adjusting to the new environment. Our members want to hear how Canadian business leaders are stewarding their companies through these challenging economic times.
YPE presents a panel of business executives including AltaLink’s Senior Vice President Johanne Picard-Thompson , Enbridge’s Chief Operation Officer (COO) Leon Zupan, Grant Thornton’s Partner Manuel Caceres and KPMG’s Senior Vice President (VP) Jonathan Edgett.

Johanne Picard-Thompson - Senior Vice President, AltaLink
Johanne is an engineering graduate from the University of Toronto and most recently was the General Manager, Oil Sands Growth Operations at Shell Canada overseeing operations, commissioning and startup planning for expansion projects. Having lead business improvement strategies across Canada, the United States, Mexico and Brazil Johanne brings a wealth of experience to AltaLink.
Leon Zupan – Chief Operating Officer (COO), Enbridge Liquids Pipelines Inc.
Mr. Zupan joined Enbridge in 1987 and has held increasingly senior management positions in Operations, Shipper Services and IT. Prior to his current role, Leon was President, Gas Pipelines, Houston, Texas, with responsibilities for Gas Gathering and Processing, as well as on-shore and off-shore gas pipelines in Canada and the United States.
Manuel Caceres - Partner, Grant Thornton
Mr. Caceres has more than 12 years of experience in public accounting and works exclusively with owner-managed businesses to advise them to achieve their growth potential. His clients are primarily in oil and gas services, manufacturing, transportation, and distribution.
Jonathan Edgett – Senior Vice President, KPMG, Corporate Finance Inc.
Mr. Edgett has been with KPMG for more than four years and hold the positions of Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance and Senior Manager of KPMG Enterprise.
