You will help strategically sell into all levels of the client organizations, be committed to our environmental mission, possess great curiosity, ask challenging questions, and think creatively and independently. Carbon Lighthouse provides an actively managed energy service that reduces energy consumption and leverages renewable power to deliver a guaranteed revenue stream for commercial, industrial and educational real estate owners. Established in 2010, the company has served over 650 buildings, cutting carbon emissions equivalent to ten power plants while delivering millions of dollars of financial benefits for clients. Using our proprietary energy optimization technology, CLUES™, our engineers analyze new sources of data to uncover hidden inefficiencies and deliver the most profitable solution for each unique building. Our mission is to stop climate change, and transforming the way energy is used in buildings is one of the most impactful ways to start. Our talented team uses our proprietary processes and software to implement energy efficiency projects in buildings. After energy is reduced, we compete with power plants for operating permits to offset our customers’ residual carbon footprints Responsibilities:
  • Develop creative strategies with Executive Account Managers to advance opportunities through co-leading calls with commercial real estate firms
  • Independently work with key stakeholders (property managers, chief engineers) to develop excitement about our service and to gain insights into the client's business challenges
  • Consistent and persistent follow up for client scheduling, building information, lease information, and other open questions to resolve financial and technical fit of client sites
  • Model preliminary financials for client buildings
  • Keep client and site information in Salesforce up to date
  • Create needed collateral using internal and external tools to aid speedy turnaround of client documentation and proposals
  •  Research and analysis of solar and efficiency related policies, incentives, utility rates, etc.
  • Via networking and “boots-on-the-ground” efforts, immerse into the local Commercial Real Estate network to increase CL lead generation, brand awareness and service reputation.
  • Utilize established sales skills to contribute to lead generation on the East Coast to support  pipeline development and opportunity creation
  • 1-2 years experience in commercial real estate, business to business sales, or engineering
  • Politeness, integrity, and dedication to Carbon Lighthouse’s environmental mission
  • Interest in building cash flow models and applying concepts of corporate finance, capital markets, real estate, solar energy, energy efficiency, utility rates, and building technology
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time depending on different workflows to advance deals and develop internal knowledge
  • Ability to step outside of comfort zone and work amidst ambiguity and changing team needs
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel for local or national meetings and industry events (~5 days per month)
