Position Title Manager, Strategy & Finance
Location The Woodlands, Texas
Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development, the Manager of Strategy & Finance of Newfield Exploration
(“Newfield”) will be part of a dynamic team of commercial and engineering professionals who manage several strategic initiatives for Newfield across finance, planning and corporate and asset level M&A. The group interacts daily with executive management and senior leadership throughout the Company.
Develop and construct quarterly Board of Directors Strategy Session materials
Prepare quarterly Board of Directors Committee materials (Ops& Reserves, Compensation)
Set agendas and contribute to quarterly strategic business reviews and executive sessions
Assist with corporate and asset level M&A evaluations and execution
Supervise analytics for various business development opportunities
Lead short / long-term corporate planning efforts (capital allocation scenarios and forecasting)
Manage annual budget process and monthly re-forecasting of corporate results
Support Investor Relations with public guidance, quarterly earnings and investor presentations
Mentor and develop junior CD team members

The successful candidate will be an experienced and broad-based financial professional with exceptional commercial skills and the following specific qualifications and experience:
5 – 7 years Investment Banking, Private Equity or Corporate Finance experience
Strong communication skills and leadership presence
Demonstrated management and analytical abilities
Positive attitude and committed team player
Capital markets, planning and corporate and asset level M&A experience
Knowledgeable of upstream oil & gas resource plays
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Unquestionable ethics, integrity and business judgment.
