Senior Associate / Vice President - Energy - Middle Market Private Equity Firm (North Carolina)
This confidential client is a middle market private equity firm that has provided approximately $3.5 billion of buyout and growth capital to closely-held private companies and new business platforms. The Principals have demonstrated a proven, industry-focused model that has built middle market leaders and generated consistently attractive returns. They have approximately $2.4 billion of assets under management and they've made 137 investments across North America since 1993.
The Senior Associate / Vice President will work closely with the team to lead sourcing new investments, transaction execution and portfolio management for firm's energy investments. This includes: conducting financial analysis, leading due diligence, preparing investment recommendations, negotiating legal documentation, assisting in closing transactions and being involved in portfolio management throughout the life of an investment. The individual must possess a strong enthusiasm for the energy industry and must work effectively in a team environment with all members of the team.

Specifically 5-10 years of relevant experience in the energy sector, with a
leading investment firm, industry strategic, or investment bank.
Principal investment experience is preferred.
Energy sector experience is required. Subsector experience of
energy can include; midstream, upstream, downstream, and
Ability to quickly and efficiently evaluate people, business plans,
transactions and assets; articulate their quality, upsides and risk;
and have conviction and the ability to articulate which
opportunities to pursue and which to pass on.
Proficiency and confidence interacting with senior staff, CEOs
This person will have a broad and respected network across the
energy banking, industry, and principal investing communities.
Specific responsibilities will include supporting energy investments in
all respects, including the following specific tasks:
Contribute and lead to analysis and selection of potential
investments across the energy value chain.
Manage investment underwriting, including: financial modeling
and analysis, conducting due diligence, documentation, and
obtaining debt financing and closing investments.
Lead the preparation of investment recommendations and present
to deal team leads and investment committee. Review
and negotiate transaction legal documents.
Assist with closing and funding of new investments including
coordinating compliance review, capital calls, reviewing deal
documents, and producing summary memos.
Monitor and contribute in the management of a portfolio of
energy investments by maintaining cash flow models, reviewing
financial and operating reports, researching industry materials,
management meetings, amendments and follow-on investments.
