The Future of Global Travel: Hyperloop, High-Speed Transportation, and the Connected Car

Join YPE Los Angeles, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council Young Professionals, and the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator for a networking session and panel, The Future of Global Travel: Hyperloop, High-Speed Transportation, and the Connected Car.

Thursday, February 11, 2016  7:30 PM
LACI: La Kertz Innovation Campus
525 S. Hewitt Street, Los Angeles CA 90013.

The Hyperloop is a conceptual high-speed transportation system put forward by entrepreneur Elon Musk that would travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 35 minutes. The idea included shooting passenger pods through vacuumed tubes to their destination. Many organizations set forth on engineering and designing these low-energy, virtually air-resistant tracks to bring this concept to reality.

Panelists discussing the topic include CEO of Hyperloop Transpiration Technologies Dirk Ahlborn, Chief Innovation Officer of LA Metro Joshua Schank, Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at UCLA Dr. Rui Wang, LA Metro Transportation Planning Manager Julia Salinas, Connected Car Council's Keith Lehmann, and Caltrans Chief Deputy Director Kome Ajise.
