Russell Johnson is a long time Bakersfield resident where he has spent the majority of his life. He was born at Memorial Hospital in 1979 and attended local schools graduating from Stockdale High School in 1997. After obtaining his undergraduate requirements at Bakersfield College he transferred to the University of California Santa Barbara where he obtained his degree in history.
Bakersfield was always his home and he returned to the Valley in 2002. He worked as a district representative for a California State Senator until he left to work in the private sector in 2005. At that time he was appointed to the Bakersfield Planning Commission and he served from August of 2005 until April of 2009. In 2007, he was asked to serve as Kern County Supervisor Mike Maggard’s chief of staff. A position he held until December 2009. In November of 2010, Russell was elected to the Bakersfield City Council. He served as the representative for the City’s 7th ward until his term ended in December 2014.
Russell operates his own public affairs and government relations firm called, Common Sense Consulting. His clients include large corporations, business trade associations and average citizens that need help cutting through the red tape of government.
Community service has always been a passion of Russell Johnson’s. He has served on many non-profit boards including the Boys and Girls Club of Kern County, The Center for Kern Political Education, and as County staff member representative on the Kern Economic Development Corporation.
Russell’s family has lived in Kern County for many years, in fact, his grandfather Bill Park served on the Bakersfield City Council in the late 60’s. He and his wife Susanne just celebrated the birth of their 1st born son in November 2014.

Prior to joining TSIB in 2017 Nick has 14 years of experience as a property & casualty risk advisor.
Nick Langer is a California native. Nick attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He later transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara where he earned his degree in Business Economics.
Nick is a strategic partner and has served as an Insurance Advisor to the Board of Directors of The California Association of Licensed Security Agencies, Guards and Associates (CALSAGA). Nick is the Chairmen of The Bakersfield Young Professionals in Energy (YPE). He is a member of the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) and is the former Government Affairs Committee Chair for the Central California chapter. He is a member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Associated Subcontractors Alliance (ASA) and Plumbing Heating & Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC).
Nick regularly conducts seminars for various trade associations and provides presentations on Workers’ Compensation, Claims Management, Risk Management, Contractual Risk Transfer and Employment Practices Liability. Jeremy Meadors grew up in the Los Angeles area before moving to Bakersfield in 1989. He is a graduate of Foothill High School and attended Bakersfield College, winning over 50 local, state and national awards for journalism excellence. He spent time during college as a columnist and freelancing for the Bakersfield Californian.
After spending 14 years in operations and sales leadership at Kinko’s/Fedex Kinko’s, Jeremy left to pursue a career in sales, working for Jaco Oil, and WW Grainger, Inc. After his time at Distribution NOW in which he served as sales manager for the Western US, Jeremy utilized his experience in document solutions and opened Big Print and Copy LLC in Bakersfield.
Jeremy is proud to be the father of three children and five grandchildren. He enjoys the camping, fishing, boating and is passionately involved in the defense of the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.

Jamie Absher was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. She is alum to South High, Bakersfield College, and Fresno Pacific University. She is currently enrolled in the College of Law at Oklahoma University where she is studying for her Masters of Legal Studies in Oil, Gas and Energy Law. She will have her MLS in December 2019.
She is currently a Land Analyst for E&B Natural Resources covering operations throughout California, Wyoming, Kansas and Louisiana. She has been actively involved with various land projects since 2004 specializing in project management, title and contract negotiations.
Along with being a board member for the YPE, she is also a co-chair for Vice President Meetings & Education for the Bakersfield Association of Petroleum Landmen. In addition, she has been a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and recently won a scholarship through the AAPL for her charitable work within the community and GPA.
YPE is important to her because there is a need to utilize the people within the industry. The YPE is a great place to network and meet mentors and sponsors throughout the energy industry. Our area has an exceptional amount of benefits in oil and renewable energy and together we can make a difference.

Erin Mykleby joined the CSU Bakersfield Athletics Department on Oct. 1, 2018. She serves as the Athletics Annual Fund Coordinator.
A native of Bettendorf, Iowa brings a wide variety of athletics experience to CSUB, ranging from the Division I, II, and III ranks. Prior to coming to Bakersfield, Mykleby worked at St. Leo University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Fundraising & Community Engagement. As a member of the Director of Athletics administrative leadership team, Mykleby served as a liaison to University Advancement/Alumni Relations and raised over $120,000 in the inaugural giving campaign with donations from 1,147 supporters, while increasing the athletic donor, sponsorship, and season ticket holder base during her tenure.
While at St. Leo, Mykleby also oversaw external operations including special events, corporate partnerships, and marketing/promotions for the Lions and served as the lead advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Mykleby was also a facilitator for the 2017 NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Development Forum and has served as the co-leader of the Women In College Sports Development Circle.
Prior to her time at St. Leo, Mykleby served as a graduate intern for the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked with the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A), National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA), and the Northeastern Ohio Chapter of the National Football Foundation, while planning for the 2015 NACDA & Affiliates Convention Week. As a graduate of the University of Iowa Sports Management Master’s program, Mykleby worked with the athletic department in serval capabilities as a Learning Specialist, Development/Event Management intern and was also the High Performance/Coaching Education intern for USA Track & Field in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2013. She also was a teacher and coach overseas in Antwerp, Belgium.
Mykleby graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she was a captain on the Luther College swimming team and an Honorable Mention All-American. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Luther College as well as a minor in Communication Studies.
