Houston, TX – On Saturday, April 1st, the Houston chapters of Friends of St. Jude and Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) hosted their 9th annual crawfish boil at Goode Company’s Armadillo Palace. The event was attended by more than 1,000 guests and raised approximately $72,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; both the attendance and fundraising numbers for this event broke previous records. Autin-based Texas country music band Reckless Kelly provided the live entertainment, and more than 2,500 lbs. of crawfish were served.
Sponsors of the event included Fire-Disc, Coastal Spray, Wilson & Franco, Eureka Midstream, Texas Gulf Bank, Pref-Tech, AON, and TransTex Treating, among others. Goode Company assisted mightily in the afternoon by providing its recently-overhauled and expanded Armadillo Palace at no cost, allowing for the event to attain significant growth and succeed on multiple levels. Event chairs that offered their leadership were Stephen Morgan and Matt Gelotti, board members of YPE Houston, and Crystal Winters and Keith Kingham, board members of Friends of St. Jude – Houston Chapter.

YPE is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which aims to facilitate the advancement of young professional’s in the energy industry around the world through social, educational, and civic service oriented events. Through this avenue, our members gain insightful experiences and information that help young professionals become tomorrow’s leaders.
Friends of St. Jude is a young professionals organization dedicated to the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and networking for a cause.
