YPE Denver – March DEN Talk

YPE Denver’s March DEN Talks will feature Heather Vainisi, Business Manager in the Sustainability Strategy group at Accenture, and Lindsay Schneider, founder, owner, and Principal Consultant of Village Carbon. Together they’ll discuss the current ESG landscape.

Date & Time: Thursday, March 9th. Come for drinks at 5, and the discussion will start promptly at 5:30. They’ll present for ~20 minutes and we’ll then open the room for open discussion and questions!

Location: 1999 N Broadway, 32nd Floor. You have to take two elevators to get there, but the view is well worth it!

Lindsay Schneider is the founder, owner, and Principal Consultant of Village Carbon, where she is furthering progress toward climate goals while bolstering the financial sustainability of partner organizations through carbon revenue. Lindsay has almost 20 years of diverse professional experience in environmental permitting, compliance, and management, having worked in municipal government, consulting, construction, mining and materials, and midstream oil and natural gas. Lindsay holds a BS in Analytical Environmental Studies from the University of Nebraska – Omaha and a MS in Global Energy Management from the University of Colorado – Denver. Lindsay is an active supporter of multiple non-profits in the Denver area supporting children, the environment, girls in STEM, and other community needs. She is a Butterfly Pavilion Science and Conservation Committee member, serves as a guide for the Society of Women Engineers annual GESTEM event, volunteers with STEMblazers to inspire and support girls’ interest in STEM careers, has been the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center Gala Sponsorship Committee chair, and served on the board of Curtis Park Neighbors Registered Neighborhood Organization. Lindsay lives in Denver with her husband and three daughters, and when she isn’t busy building, fixing, or creating, she enjoys the outdoors, gatherings with friends, reading, travel, and great food and wine.

Heather Vainisi is a Business Strategy Manager in the Sustainability Strategy group at Accenture. She helps clients navigate the complexities and choices of climate disclosures and to improve the quality of ESG data for external reporting to help companies align with investor expectations. She is able to support clients with this work because prior to coming to Accenture, she had a long career in environmental compliance and sustainability helping organizations establish emission reduction targets, execute GHG accounting/ESG reporting, and transform their data to unlock ESG and business insights Prior to Accenture, she held the role of Sustainability Manager for MPLX, which is the midstream logistics function of Marathon Petroleum Corporation. In the role,
she led an ESG cross-functional work group to identify and prioritize organizational and site-based energy, methane and GHG related improvements. She worked with the organization to conceptualize and identify value adding ESG initiatives that help support the organization’s strategic climate change emission reduction goals. Her and her team were responsible for GHG, Emissions Inventory, SASB/GRI and Sustainability reporting as well as data collection improvements across the business. Prior to that she held multiple roles as Env. Specialist at Suncor Energy
and Env. Engineer at BP Products. Heather holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from University of Kansas and an M.S. in Environmental Management & Policy with a concentration in Sustainability and Energy. She lives in Denver with her partner and their two dogs, Murphy and Seabass. She enjoys skiing (alpine and backcountry), mountain biking, hiking and going to see live music.
