Commercial Operations - Back Office Specialist

EverPower’s Commercial Operations Department is seeking a Back Office Specialist with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in wholesale or retail electricity markets.

The position will report to EverPower’s Back/Mid-Office Manager.

EverPower’s Commercial Group is a lean organization and cross training in other commercial functions will be provided.

This position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to gain broad experience across all Commercial Operations functions.

The position requires understanding of the functioning of ISO markets - preferably from a power generation context.

There is some flexibility in candidate’s Back Office experience. However, professional skills are required in one or more of the following fields.

  • ISO Settlements - particular focus on PJM, as well as NYISO and ISONE
  • Contract Administration - ISDAs / EEIs
  • Transaction confirmations
  • Counterparty Transaction Settlements
  • Invoicing
  • Credit Analytics and Management
  • Margining and Collateral Management
  • Month-end Financial Reporting to Internal Accounting
  • Management Reporting of Commercial Operational data
  • Experience using and administration of transaction capture / ETRM systems is an advantage.
  • FERC EQR quarterly report submissions, EIA Annual / Monthly report submissions and other compliance activities.

Business travel is not required except for training purposes.

Job Requirements

 Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in wholesale or retail electricity markets.

  •  BS degree in Accounting / Business / Finance or similar field
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Analytical skills / ability to manage
  • Teamwork oriented - willing to pitch-in to help achieve group goals
  • Ability to multi-task among competing deliverables
  • Self starter who can manage work deadlines across multiple competing tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of ETRM systems and management reporting tools is desired
