This position is a business development role for the Oil Council (www.oilcouncil.com), which is the world’s largest network of oil and gas executives (Chairmen, CEOs, CFOs, Bankers, Advisors, Investors and Financiers). Our Members represent some of the world’s most active qualified investors and oil & gas executives. We host a series of large international business development conferences, dinners and receptions, with thousands of executives attending each year, in addition to providing oil and gas news and sharing online market insight and intelligence to our members and the world’s wider oil and gas, finance and investment communities.
 
The Oil Council is the fastest growing division in the fastest growing events company in the world. We are looking to recruit a Sponsorship and Delegate Sales executive to secure high value sponsorship contracts.
 
Due to the nature of the business and the growth in this division there is excellent career progression available to the right candidate.
 
You will work with a small team in Houston to sell sponsorship of our portfolio of global events to companies across the O&G industry and manage key accounts - from ExxonMobil, Halliburton, all the way down to smaller players. The role involves international and domestic travel, face to face meetings with very senior executives, prospecting on the phone, attending conferences, and promoting the Oil Council brand in the United States, Latin America, and Canada.

Job Requirements

Experience
Must have 1-3 years Sales experience.
 
Knowledge of finance and investment world is a plus.
 
Spanish speaking is a plus.
Skills
Must be a self-starter - able to prospect new leads, set up meetings, and close deals.
 
Must enjoy face to face meetings with senior executives (CEOs, Investment Managers, CFOs, etc), and enjoy meeting people and networking.
 
Must have good phone skills and willingness to, at times, hit the phones and find new business.
 
Spanish speaking is a plus - travel to Latin America.
