Manager, Clean Energy Finance

The nation’s first “Green Bank,” the Connecticut Green Bank is a quasi-public authority that promotes investment in clean energy in accordance with a strategic plan to foster the growth, development and commercialization of clean energy sources and related enterprises, and stimulates demand for clean energy and deployment of clean energy sources that serve end-use customers in the State of Connecticut. The Green Bank seeks an experienced Manager of Clean Energy Finance to join a team of talented, passionate individuals with a shared focus on working together to implement the new green bank model and stimulate the growth of clean energy in Connecticut, strengthen our economy and protect our environment. - Developing and managing new and existing projects and/or programs in the area of clean energy finance - Performing economic and financial analysis of energy efficiency and renewable energy programs - Providing research and financial support and analysis to inform financial program design and execution, as well as to support communication with internal and external stakeholders - Managing reporting, evaluation, and redesign of existing programs - Monitoring and reporting achievement of milestones and budgets of existing projects - Serving as a liaison to program applicants and project participants, including Green Bank partners, developers, government entities and regulatory agencies - Overseeing, designing, and conducting program solicitation and evaluation processes - Participating in the evaluation of requests for financial partnerships by providing assessment of the potential partner’s proposal in relation to Green Bank investment or project criteria - Supporting and managing due diligence activities to obtain and analyze pertinent information relative to the Green Bank’s potential returns, risk exposure, and decision to participate in investment or program opportunities - Conducting sector or program-level investor meetings and solicitations, deal documentation, and risk analysis and management - Managing the monitoring and evaluation of project and program contract deliverables - Supervising junior staff as assigned - Performing related duties as required WORK ENVIRONMENT • Candidate will be expected to be results oriented and perform responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency cognizant at all times of strict timeframes. Success in this position will depend on ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. DATE OF HIRE: We presently have 2 openings for this position. We plan on filing the first opening on or after August 1, 2014 and on the second on or after October 1, 2014. LOCATION: Our preference is to have these jobs work out of the CT Green Bank’s satellite office in Stamford, CT, but there is a possibility one or both of these positions to be located at our main office in Rocky Hill. Job Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, economics, business administration or other related field; and four (4) years’ experience managing and developing programs and/or projects ideally in a field related to clean energy finance. A Master’s degree in business administration, environmental science, engineering, economics or other related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the general experience. A professional certification in a relevant field may substitute for one (1) additional year of the general experience. Duties include:
The following minimum qualifications in knowledge, skill and ability are required: • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, business plans and other complex financial and legal concepts and documents; and to communicate and summarize salient points. • Works independently, with keen attention to detail.. • Advanced problem-solving skills. • Advanced decision-making skills. • Strong ability to apply analytical, constructive and interpretive thinking to an often unstructured environment. • Advanced prioritization, focus, coordination and organization skills. • Strong customer service and relationship management skills. • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to quickly shift focus and priorities. • Ability to lead and/or supervise staff, contractors, and others. • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other software programs as necessary. • Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work with management and a variety of other parties, at all levels, internally and externally. • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously through oral and written communications. • Experience working in a team environment
Education Required:BA + 4, MBA strongly preferred
