The Client Success Manager Role

Our clients' success is Oseberg's lifeblood. As a Client Success Manager, you will manage our client relationships throughout their post-sale lifecycle. That means doing the interesting and challenging work required to ensure our clients derive significant value from their relationship with Oseberg.

We will teach you about Oseberg's products and the broader landscape of oil & gas exploration, development and production. You will work on the leading edge of data analytics in the oil & gas industry. Along the way, you will become an expert at establishing and developing value-based business relationships. You will build a loyal fan base for Oseberg at dozens of companies active in the oil & gas industry. Your work at Oseberg will have a significant impact on our clients’ -- and thereby Oseberg’s -- success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • understanding the strategy and goals of clients, and explaining how Oseberg’s products can help them
  • teaching savvy explorationists how to use our products to achieve their personal objectives;
  • tracking how clients leverage our products, and stepping in to coach users who need a hand;
  • uncovering additional people we can help within clients, and developing those new relationships;
  • retaining and expanding Oseberg’s commercial relationship with our clients;
  • serving as our clients’ liaison to Oseberg’s product and software engineering teams; and
  • understanding and interpreting Oseberg’s policies and procedures from a client-centric perspective, and where necessary, formulating and implementing improvements.

Most of your time will be spent interacting by phone with our clients, with the help of screen-sharing Web applications. Limited travel to visit clients will be part of the job. You will be required to exercise utmost discretion and your own good judgment to drive our business forward. Your success will be defined by the commercial results you deliver for Oseberg. Moreover, we expect you to make business contributions that enhance our scale.

Job Requirements



Candidates for the Client Success Manager role have a warrior's spirit and a servant's heart. You must be passionate about helping others succeed, particularly in commercial settings. We're breaking new ground here, so you must be comfortable with the excitement, ambiguity and inevitable up's and down's of an entrepreneurial endeavor.

Other skills and qualifications required for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a track record of excellence in academics, athletics, or meaningful pursuits
  • Demonstrated interest in the oil & gas industry - and a desire to learn more
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (particularly over email and phone)
  • Adept at establishing a value proposition, and earning the right to ask meaningful questions
  • Action-oriented, and facile at defining the best pathways to important decision points
  • Motivated to win in a team setting, and driven to make strong individual contributions
  • One to three years of work experience, preferably in a client-facing role
