An Analyst is needed to provide both research and project-execution support to Oil & Gas Corporate Advisory, M & A Group of Standard Chartered Bank in US, a recognized emerging markets bank offering Wholesale Banking and Private Banking products in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America to US based multinational corporations and institutions.
 
The role includes, but is not limited to preparation of presentations, data analysis and economic modelling for both marketing initiatives and project mandates for the Oil & Gas Advisory Office of the bank located in Houston, TX with focus on Latin American markets.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Project Execution Support – Working on either buy-side or sell side mandates assisting senior professionals on transactions through the collation of information and preparation of presentations and related documentation
  • Market Research – Collation/ Preparation/ Presentation & Analysis of Data for the purposes of Pitch Presentations and Company Analysis. Prepare and maintain monthly comp tables and regular corporate profile updates as required. Pro-active circulation and interpretation of news stories and intelligence to initiate business development opportunities
  • Data Room Assistance – Organize project online and physical data rooms and liaise with prospective buyers
  • Judgement of transactional and structural risks in financing, including credit risks (bank/corporate), country risk, operational risk, performance risk and markets risk

  • Build your understanding of the public market takeover code in your region and acquisition debt and equity finance

Position Reports To:Managing Director, Oil & Gas Corporate Advisory M&A;, Latin America
Salary:$75,000 to $85,000
Other Benefits:Annual Performance Bonus; Full Benefits Coverage
Location:Houston, TX, USA
Travel Required:30% of the time (approximate)

Job Requirements

Experience

 

  •         A minimum of one year experience in either an Investment Bank (Corporate Finance - Analyst) or Petroleum Engineering/ Geosciences within the Upstream Oil & Gas Industry (preferred)/ Consultancy

  • Latin American O&G experience (technical or transactional) strongly preferred

  • US GOM or shale gas technical or transactional experience a plus

  • Self-starter, motivated, independent professional – interest in and knowledge of mergers, acquisitions and divestments, as well as the oil & gas sector
