YPE hosting a discussion on gaining community support for energy projects

Come join the Young Professionals in Energy Honolulu Chapter for our monthly event.

We're meeting at Murphy’s Bar & Grill this month.

Community relations specialists will share stories about the processes and challenges of performing community outreach and winning community support, for large renewable energy projects in Hawaii.

Lynn Miyahira will be sharing her experience working on the communication and community outreach team for a proposed wind energy project called Palehua Wind in the Waianae mountains. The project is being developed by Eurus Energy America and has the potential to power 25,000 Oahu homes. A PPA with HECO was signed in  November 2018 and the project is still in front of the PUC

Lynn Miyahira is an account director in iQ 360 – a communications and PR firm based in Honolulu. She specializes in communications and public affairs and held prior positions as marketing director at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Shidler College of Business (her MBA alma mater) and marketing manager at a local accounting firm.
