On July 31st, 2014, the Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) - Israel Chapter - hosted a unique field trip and tour at the Givot Olam’s "Meged 5" live oil production site. As reported, in mid-2011, Meged 5 was producing oil at a rate of 800 barrels per day. Participants witnessed a true miracle of how after substantial efforts and capital investments, oil is actually being extracted from beneath the ground onshore Israel.
