On February 25th, 2015 the Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) – Israel Chapter hosted its 1st field trip event concentrated solely on midstream natural gas and the conversion of industrial plants to the use of natural gas to replace more expensive and more polluting heavy fuels.
This unique field trip covered two critical aspects of the industry; one is the operational side of compressing natural gas (CNG), a compression facility located in the Alon Tavor Industrial Zone and the other focused on an industrial plant case study, Phoenicia Glass, which is a major energy consumer heavily influenced by fuel prices and which is now connected to both CNG and the natural gas distribution network.
