2050 Partners is seeking to add a bright and highly organized Senior Consultant primarily to provide program management support for our role in a large, new energy efficiency program in California. As a Senior Consultant, you will support 2050 Partners’ responsibilities in this new program, including screening and prioritization of submitted third-party project proposals and the development and execution of 2050 Partners’ internal processes to screen, score, and prioritize them. In addition, your responsibilities may extend to assisting with project coordination and technical and analytical support for other 2050 Partners projects. Responsibilities Include:

  • Be a Trusted Advisor to our clients with an emphasis on providing pragmatic advice based on defensible data and analysis
  • Serve as day-to-day project lead for 2050 Partners’ role in the new program
  • Manage project team and subcontractor workflows and ensure completion of final work products. Ensure the highest level of quality in all project deliverables, including reports and presentations
  • Ensure compliance with client contract and other program requirements
  • Support the development of the intake process for submitted third-party project proposals including documenting process flows, user journey maps, data field structures, transfer protocols, etc., required by the development and user testing teams
  • Conduct secondary research to support data-driven screening, scoring, and prioritization of submitted third-party project proposals
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal team’s reviews of submitted third-party project proposals
  • Implement and oversee others in project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing, which typically involves activities, such as:
    • Financial and project milestone forecasting and tracking
    • Stakeholder communications and relationship management
    • Client relationship management
    • Program strategy development and execution
    • Problem solving
    • Support the development of reports and develop compelling presentations and supporting materials for external presentations to the program’s advisory board and the general public


Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred degree in environmental studies, engineering, technical or quantitative field
  • 8+ years relevant experience including energy efficiency, management consulting, regulatory affairs (work and graduate program, if applicable)
  • Experience working in the California energy efficiency program and policy environment including familiarity with CEDARS, California Policy Manual, DEER and CalTF eTRM workpapers, ET Coordination Council research papers
  • Exposure to market transformation, workforce and training (WE&T), and energy equity programs a plus
  • Flexibility and adaptability with regard to project focus
  • Demonstrated commitment to and consistency in quality control practices and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work and thrive independently and juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Proactive and collaborative problem-solving approach
  • Experience using Microsoft Office; strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Familiarity developing specifications and requirements for web-based forms and tools
  • Ability to collaborate well with people at all levels within an organization
  • Confidence, enthusiasm, and humility
  • Willingness for occasional travel
  • Desire and ability to work remotely
