Description

Enel North America works closely with businesses and institutions to develop, execute, and continually refine a holistic energy strategy designed to achieve desired outcomes through a suite of solutions and services.  Energy analysts are tasked with architecting these strategies, working in tandem with internal resources on their delivery, and becoming an energy expert in their assigned region(s) and or commodity.  Successful managers have a firm understanding of the underlying market fundamentals; market drivers, renewable market conditions, generation footprint, regulatory environment, utility cost models, etc

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

- Work in tandem with internal Energy Procurement Managers and Advisors to deliver deep technical, regional, regulatory, and commodity expertise to a portfolio of clients
- Create reports and presentations that show market trends
- Utilize Enel X software and apply market analysis to make recommendations to clients on when to purchase or hedge physical energy
- Assist in the bid analysis for customer RFPs
- Produce both recurring and ad hoc analytics, and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
- Leverage internal tools to support and deliver customer analytics: energy budgets, variance to budget, savings from default service, renewable PPA and VPPA analysis, distributed energy resource assessment (CHP, onsite solar, etc.), VaR analysis, load profiles, mark to market reporting, tariff analysis, pricing indices, procurement summary analytics and more
- Create, enhance and maintain deliverable models (Excel and Software based)
- Oversee data collection, aggregation, maintenance and forecasting that feeds into cost modeling
- Attend client meetings in-person as needed
- Write and report energy market content for internal and external market commentary
- Lead members of the team in process/tool improvement projects
- Support the sales process as requested
- Assist the Product team in analyzing new supply markets, concepts, and commodities as requested. Train other members of the Enel X organization as needed
- Attend skills training to meet requirements and maintain certifications
- Learn other Enel X products as needed, including software services and energy services
- Develop price forecasts and make market analysis recommendation to clients

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

- 5+ years of professional experience in the US deregulated power industry
- Detailed knowledge of electric cost components, market knowledge, and RTO pricing in PJM, ISO-NE or NYISO
- Ability to read tariffs and recreate electric and natural gas utility costs
- Budgeting, forecasting and price structuring experience
- Able to clearly explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
