In order to meet the needs of our expanding business we are currently seeking a motivated Settlements Analyst to join our team. This position will report to the Sr Director of Operations & IT. Working closely with all departments and systems for data accuracy and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs the review and analysis of financial results, related to wholesale and retail energy activities.
  • Uses multiple IT systems to review and analyze monthly billing statements for customers.
  • Ensures compliance with terms and conditions of contracts in accounting and billing for retail electric and gas customers.
  • Maintains confidentiality for all matters regarding highly sensitive corporate and outside party information gathered and maintained in the normal performance of the settlements function.
  • Prepares, or review financial and operational reports required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission or other regulatory agency.
  • Performs research and analysis for Pricing in analyzing issues related to load research and discrepancies.
  • Works closely with the Trading desk to understand trading strategies in order to perform the reconciliation of those trades in downstream systems.
  • Handles the settlement, tie-out, reporting and analysis for all financially settled trades.
  • Identifies and implements process improvement changes in the use of IT systems and work processes in the Energy Settlements Group.
  • Responds to inquiries of internal groups regarding requests pertaining to the settlement systems and to research complex issues.
  • Special Projects as assigned;
    • Monthly Invoice Reconciliation
    • Review and Process Exception Reports
    • Process Electric ISO Settlements Data
    • Update Risk Reports
    • Product Ad-hoc Reports for Management

Experience and Education:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently in team oriented culture in a fast paced environment.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of settlements or related experience in commodity trading environment preferable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel (intermediate Excel skills require).
  • High level of accuracy in regards to data entry and analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Business is preferred.
