LOS ANGELES (October 21, 2009) _ The first Los Angeles meeting of Young Professionals in Energy provided a huge networking opportunity for the region's rising power executives, who came together for an evening of business discussions, dealmaking and several important speeches centered on the future of energy. The event, held Oct. 20 at Vermont Restaurant in the heart of the city's trendy Los Feliz district, saw Los Angeles Environmental Commissioner Maria Armoudian detail the city and region's plans to transform its energy base into a vibrant source of clean, renewable power. Representatives from Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas, UCLA Anderson School of Management, the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power, AxioPower, Sempra Energy, the Center for Sustainable Energy California, Foley and Lardner LLP and other top organizations were present at the event.
