On Thursday, October 22nd, YPE NYC will host an interactive panel event focused on Local Law 97, which stipulates that large buildings in NYC cap their emissions beginning in 2024 and reduce them by 80% by 2050. As part of the Climate Mobilization Act, NYC's Green New Deal, Local Law 97 will heighten unprecedented challenges which demand swift and creative responses across building sector stakeholders, including policy, engineering, and operations.
With support from moderator H.G. Chissell, CEO of Advanced Energy Group, we are excited to bring you a unique take on this virtual program: panelists from Jaros Baum & Bolles (JB&B), NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services' (DCAS) Division of Energy Management (DEM), Trane NYC, and the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability (MOS) will each present on Local Law 97's impact on the building sector, its challenges and opportunities, and role in local and global decarbonization efforts.
Once the panelists have concluded, the audience (that’s you!) will vote on which presentation was most persuasive. Speakers will then elaborate on their perspectives through the lens of the winning argument during an interactive Q&A session.
You can find more details on the panelists below. We look forward to seeing you there!
