Taniya Thomas

Taniya Thomas is a Deputy Director within the Operations Unit at the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services’ (DCAS) Division of Energy Management (DEM). She focuses on supporting agencies with capital project strategy and long-term planning related to greenhouse gas emissions reduction. She is also directly supporting DCAS DEM’s Local Law 97 Implementation Action Plan (LL97 IAP) and works closely to ensure coordination between her team’s agency-level engagement with the anticipated findings from the LL97 IAP. Prior to joining DCAS DEM, Taniya worked in the private sector for several years as a management consultant and an energy analyst. She has a B.S. in Chemistry from Binghamton University and an MEng in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.

Ross MacWhinney

Ross MacWhinney is a Senior Advisor in the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability in New York City. He works on climate policy and program development, leveraging energy and emissions data to support ambitious GHG reductions. Ross was an architect of the Climate Mobilization Act’s Local Law 97, which caps emissions in large buildings. He also manages the City’s greenhouse gas inventory and guides research and data science efforts in the office. Ross is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, and NYU-CUSP.

Molly Dee

Molly Dee is an Associate at JB&B and Head of Deep Carbon Reduction, a team focused on deep carbon emission reductions in the built environment. Her experience includes identifying opportunities for implementing energy conservation measures and low-carbon design strategies with the intent of decreasing energy consumption, driving down carbon emissions, and helping clients realize energy cost savings associated with energy improvements and upgrades. She has served as co-chair of a working group with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability for the NYC Carbon Challenge and is an active participant in the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability Industry Council.

Thomas Reyes

Thomas Reyes is a leader in Trane NYC’s HVAC Systems Group. This group focuses on developing and integrating HVAC solutions for large complex commercial projects with engineers and property owners. His expertise revolves around chilled water plants, chilled water VAV systems, and custom air handling systems. Thomas joined Trane in 2009 as a Sales Engineer. He held that role at Trane for 8 years before transitioning to lead Business Development in NYC. He is also the Vice President of the ASHRAE NY Chapter and Regional Vice-Chair for the ASHRAE Government Affairs Committee. He holds a BS in Architectural Engineering Technology and a BSBA in Business Management from The University of Hartford.

H.G. Chissell is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Energy Group. Previously, H.G. Chissell served as Chief Commercial Officer at GridMarket and Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts for Viridity Energy, a software/service firm focused on virtual power generation and advanced energy optimization. H.G. was with Viridity Energy from its beginning in 2009, leading the company’s growth of MWs under management and strategic expansion throughout PJM, NYISO, and ERCOT across all key verticals. H.G. is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Drexel University.
