Electric Vehicles and the Road Ahead

1534270098

Young Professionals in Energy is excited to present its members with an opportunity to learn about the electric vehicle landscape.  Electric vehicles, or EVs, are poised to rewrite the book on transportation.

While the first electric vehicles were produced over a century ago, rising gas prices, advances in technology and concern about the environment make electric vehicles an increasingly attractive alternative to gas-powered cars.

EV sales have increased significantly in recent years, but fewer than one in 50 cars sold in BC in 2017 were battery electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.  What is holding back mass adoption of EVs - habit, price, range anxiety, or something else?  If a big shift does occur, what will this mean for our homes, wallets, cities and the electric grid?

Representatives from BC Hydro, the City of Vancouver and Plug In BC with in-depth knowledge of the area will join us to explore these questions and more.

We have limited seating for the event, and will be checking names at the door.

Looking forward to meeting you, the learning, and the great discussions.
