Silicon Valley Clean Energy is a community-owned agency formed in March 2016 to bring carbon-free electricity to residents and businesses in participating communities. Member communities include Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Sunnyvale and the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County. SVCE is guided by a Board of Directors, which is comprised of a representative from the governing body of each member community.
The principal purpose of SVCE is to implement a Community Choice Energy (CCE) program for its member communities. SVCE purchases electricity on the open market from clean generation sources (such as solar, wind, and hydropower) on behalf of customers in its service area. Electricity is still delivered over the existing transmission system, which continues to be owned and operated by the current electric utility. Implementing a CCE program helps achieve local community climate actions goals.
The Data Analyst works under the direction of the Director for Decarbonization & Grid Innovation and collaborates closely with the Directors and Managers of other teams (Power Supply, Account Services & Community Relations, Legislative & Regulatory Effectiveness) to plan and design a platform and portfolio of programs to achieve SVCE goals.
Examples of anticipated assignments include carrying out statistical analysis for the purposes of retail customer segmentation and targeted marketing; designing and conducting the evaluation, measurement and verification for programmatic initiatives; creating compelling graphics, charts, tables, and other methods of data visualization to incorporate into written reports and oral presentations for community training and workshops, legislative and professional groups, the Board of Directors, and SVCE staff; managing consultants and contractors.
