Renewable Energy Regulatory Compliance Analyst
D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments ( DESRI ) is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join its team in a regulatory compliance position. DESRI is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy assets across the U.S. that acquires, develops, owns, and manages a portfolio of over 30 renewable energy assets totaling approximately 2,000 MWdc of generation capacity. This analyst will be based in either our Denver or New York office and will have the opportunity to participate in the operations and management of renewable energy assets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You will be tasked with ensuring generator owner and operator compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Energy Reliability Corporation (NERC), and other regulatory and contractual obligations. You’ll also be responsible for monthly maintenance data collection, periodic reporting, and maintenance and enhancements of document management and scheduling systems. The role provides the opportunity to participate in other aspects of project operations and renewable energy asset management to help deepen your understanding of the business.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- The ideal candidate will have an impressive background of academic or professional achievement, two to five years of energy operations and/or regulatory compliance experience, and an undergraduate degree in engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
- Intellectually curious individuals with exceptional written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with management and regulatory authorities will excel in this role.
- The ability to decipher regulatory requirements and successfully apply them to the business is a must, as is an ability to multitask and successfully meet project deadlines and requirements in a timely manner.
- Previous renewable energy experience is preferred but not required.
