Our North Dallas energy client offers just that and is seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist to join their top-notch team. The focus in this role will be ensuring the firm maintains regulatory compliance within states in which it operates and continuing to build strong working relationships with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage regulatory filings and resolve compliance issues with State and Federal agencies, including Kansas Corporation Commission, Oklahoma Corporation Commission, North Dakota Industrial Commission, Montana Board of Oil and Gas, Texas Railroad Commission, U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management, and Bureau of Indian Affairs
  • Interact with regulatory agencies to ensure progression of pending permits, applications, and resolution of corrective action or notice of violation
  • Coordinate and participate in Pipeline Safety audits
  • Responsible for conducting regulatory due diligence for new acquisitions
  • Complete and submit operator change/regulatory documents related to new acquisitions
  • Populate and submit required workover, recompletion, salt water disposal, well testing, plug and abandonment filings in a timely manner to the appropriate regulated entities
  • Collect and submit monthly and annual UIC injection and disposal volumes in a timely manner to the appropriate regulated entities
  • Collaborate with operations, land, and engineering staff to obtain information and ensure regulatory compliance with state and local laws
  • Maintain working knowledge of existing rules and integrate new or revised rules into responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of regulations to long-term asset goals
  • Create and maintain both electronic and paper departmental files

Skills & Specifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to understand and explain detailed regulatory compliance programs and/or issues
  • Ability to comply with changing regulatory procedures and prioritize work effectively
  • Developed organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn corporate systems
  • Ability to work well in a deadline-driven, self-managed environment
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment

Education & Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ oil and gas regulatory experience
  • Bureau of Land Management experience preferred
