Get an insiders view of NRG Energy’s Marsh Landing Generating Station, which was put into commercial operation on May 1, 2013. This 720-megawatt (MW) natural gas-fired peaking plant can supply flexible electric generation for up to 650,000 homes.
The innovative fast start technology employed by the plant would support the integration of new renewable energy sources in addition to significantly reducing water consumption. Pacific Gas and Electric Co will buy the entire output of the new plant through a 10-year power purchase agreement.
The tour will be followed by a presentation on NRG Energy's related activities and Q&A.
The facility is about 45 miles northeast of San Francisco. Please give yourself ample time to arrive and get situated. A valid ID will be required to gain access to the facility.
