Speaker: Benjamin Reed is the current Director of Business Operations at Cemvita Inc. Cemvita is a cleantech company leveraging natural microbes to solve complex, heavy industry energy transition challenges – such converting CO2 waste into feedstocks (e.g. oil), extracting minerals from low grade ore, or converting hydrocarbons in depleted oil wells into Hydrogen. Ben has a PhD in synthetic biology, and spent his earlier years in technology start ups developing precision fermentation technology for production of mid-to-high scale chemicals. The past 10 years he has worked in various portfolio and commercial roles commercializing microbes for various markets, including agriculture, wastewater, biofuels, human/animal health, and now energy.
