Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) is a non-profit organization with more than 10,000 members in its Houston Chapter. By providing a forum for networking and career development through social, educational and civic service opportunities, YPE aims to facilitate the advancement of young professionals in the global energy industry.
Ashley Sloan serves as Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist at Northern Trust. In this role, Ashley serves as trusted advisor to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families with a focus on business owners and corporate executives. As SVP and Senior Wealth Strategist, Ashley spends her time learning about potential clients’ life stories and goals and introduces Northern Trust’s unique capabilities. Northern Trust clients benefit from a holistic approach that includes; asset management, private banking, wealth transfer, fiduciary services, tax management, philanthropy, family communication and more. Previously, Ashley was an Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase where she served the Middle Market Banking and Oilfield Service segments. Her primary focus there was delivering a suite of financial services to companies with revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $500 million.
Ashley received her BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Chi Omega. She earned the FINRA Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses. Ashley’s other involvements include The Junior League of Houston, Inc., Daughters of the American Revolution, St. John’s School Annual Fund, and Tanglewood Garden Club. She joined the YPE leadership team in 2011.

Stephen Morgan is the President and Chief Executive Officer of TransTex Treating. Previously at TransTex, he served as Senior Vice President in charge of managing all commercial and operational aspects of the business, and Vice President of Business Development in which he directed the business development and marketing efforts prior to the acquisition by Eureka Midstream. Stephen has been a member of the TransTex team since 2010.
Stephen is affiliated with many social and civic organizations, which include serving as President of Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) in Houston, and chairing annual events benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Center, and Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). He also volunteers as a Big Brother through BBBS and as a Vice Chairman for HLSR Rodeo Express. Stephen is also a graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum.
For his service to the community and industry, Stephen has been honored with the Future Industry Leader Award at the Texas Oil & Gas Awards, named as one of Houston’s Top 30 Under 30 by Young Texans Against Cancer, and was recognized by BBBS as a Big Believer of the Year Award recipient.

Maria McKeige works closely with clients across industries to recruit top talent for corporate officer roles and board appointments. Maria joined Russell Reynolds Associates from Aon, where she specialized in risk management consulting, insurance brokerage and cyber security for industrial and energy clients. Previously, she held roles at Willis Towers Watson and ISN.

Born and raised in Mississippi, Garrett graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s of Science dual degree in Political Science and Public Policy Leadership. Upon graduating, Garrett took a job with Solamere Capital, a Boston based Private Equity firm, assisting with their fundraising efforts.
Soon after moving to Boston, Garrett got involved with the Free and Strong America PAC, Governor Mitt Romney’s Boston based political action committee. In 2009, Garrett took a job as the Deputy National Finance Director for the Free and Strong America PAC, but soon became Governor Romney’s Personal Aide. As Romney’s personal aide, Garrett was responsible for managing his day to day activities and traveled with the GOP presidential nominee throughout the entirety of the 2012 election cycle.
Featured in profile pieces by the New York Times, CNN, NBC News, and others, Garrett used social media outlets to give the American people a behind the scenes look into life on the campaign trail, transforming the norm for American Presidential politics.
Garrett joined SCF in 2013 where his responsibilities include evaluating and executing new investment opportunities as well as supporting ongoing portfolio initiatives. During his tenure at SCF Partners, he earned an MBA from Rice University in the Spring of 2017. Garrett and his wife have one child and in his spare time he enjoys flying, golfing, and keeping up with his beloved alma mater, Ole Miss.

Matt serves as Managing Director, North American Growth Leader, within Willis Towers Watson’s Natural Resources group. In this role, he focuses on leading business development, client-advocacy and daily client servicing for the North American Natural Resources team.
Matt has over 20 years’ experience in the risk and insurance business. Prior to joining WTW, Matt spent 19 years with Aon in the Houston office. During his tenure, he consistently led the Aon Houston office in new business sales and continued growth. He has experience working with all sectors of the oil and gas industry which include upstream, midstream and downstream, oilfield service and renewables.
Matt is a graduate of Southwestern University at Georgetown, TX. Prior to his insurance career, Matt was a professional baseball player with the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Matt is a native Houstonian and joined the YPE leadership team in 2007, serving as the President of YPE Houston through 2016. Matt now serves YPE in an advisory role for major events and partnerships.
