About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to advance the field of ESG (Environmental/Social/Governance) investing. Passion about addressing climate change and environmental degradation through economic/market issues is key. This internship is a part-time opportunity, 16 hours per week during the period of January through May of 2022. The job is primarily remote, but we can also arrange time at an office if there is interest. In this role you will work closely with one of our quantitative Portfolio Managers and a variety of internal and external stakeholders, which will require the ability to communicate across disciplines and prioritize multiple projects around clear deadlines.


  • Collect, organize, and clean data from emissions offset and environmental futures markets
  • Research history of policy changes pertaining to cap-and-trade systems
  • Collect and organize information on renewable energy production and policy mandates
  • Build basic supply/demand models for future demand for renewable energy and emission offset projects
  • Identify relevant data vendors and coordinate trials of data products
  • Collaborate with teammates within Teza to identify and test new trading ideas




  • Basic manipulation and visualization of tabular data (e.g. CSVs) using Python
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets/Excel for data cleaning and organization
  • Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of renewable energy policy landscape
  • Communication with external stakeholders


Requirements and Preferred Education


  • Basic programming experience in Python and in manipulating and cleaning large tabular datasets
  • S. in a related field (natural sciences, economics, public policy)
  • Student or graduate of MS., MBA, or MPP program in a related field
