We’re looking for an Industrial Energy Auditor at our headquarters in Fergus Falls, MN or one of our Customer Service Centers.

At Otter Tail Power, our employees help us serve the communities we support by producing reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible electricity. In this role, the Industrial Energy Auditor will perform energy studies for medium and large commercial and industrial buildings to meet our company-wide beneficial electrification, energy conservation and efficiency, and load management goals. Examples of those activities will include:

• Lead the energy transition by performing onsite audits and technical reports for customers.
• Verification of implemented projects, data analysis, and modeling.

We’re seeking candidates with a wide range of skills who are motivated to deeply understand commercial and industrial business types for performing onsite energy studies and create customer relationships to build the best path forward while aligning with our core values: Integrity, Community, Safety, Resourcefulness, Customer Service and People. Some examples of what we’re looking for include:

• Able to communicate with customers, vendors, manufacturers, and other trade allies to complete effective studies and analyses.
• Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems, and building energy codes. Interpreting design drawings, and industrial process systems. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering preferred and/or a minimum of five years of commercial/industrial energy audit experience. Have, or ability to attain within 1-year, certifications of CEM and CEA through Association of Energy Engineers and Building Operators Certification (BOC).
